About Us

Classic Fiat Ireland, is a club set up by enthusiasts for enthusiasts of vintage and veteran Fiats.  The aim of the club is to promote the marque at various shows and events throughout Ireland. The Club aim is also to support the members with technical advice and help with the sourcing of parts for your favourite machine.  A number of weekends away are planned for the year ahead, all details can be found on the events page as the year progresses.  The club is looking forward to the members support with the promotion of Fiats at future events.

May Weekend 2026 – A Wonderful Weekend in the South East

Our May Weekend 2026, held from 22nd to 24th May, was a fantastic few days of great driving, beautiful scenery, wonderful hospitality and, most importantly, good company. Our base for the weekend was the lovely Brandon House Hotel in New Ross, which proved to be an ideal location for our group.

Friday – Arrivals and a Social Evening

Members began arriving at the hotel on Friday, settling in and catching up with old friends before enjoying a relaxed social evening together. We gathered in the hotel bar for some food and refreshments, providing the perfect opportunity to unwind after the journey and get the weekend off to a great start.Saturday – Exploring the South East Coast

Saturday – Exploring the South East Coast

Saturday morning saw everyone getting ready for the main event of the weekend — our car run through the beautiful south east. The group gathered at the hotel before setting off at 10.45am, with our route taking us along some of the most scenic roads and coastline in the region. We were also delighted to be joined on the run by fellow Fiat enthusiasts, adding even more cars and characters to what was already a great group. Our run was organised by local member Mick McCabe, who had put together a fantastic route and had a lovely surprise waiting for us at our first stop at Slievecoillte. Mick very kindly presented everyone with a punnet of fresh, locally grown strawberries — a wonderfully thoughtful gesture and a real taste of the local area. Needless to say, they went down extremely well! From Slievecoillte, we continued our journey towards the picturesque village of Ballyhack. The drive down into the village was particularly memorable as we passed by Ballyhack Castle, before continuing on towards Hook Head. From Hook Head, we followed the beautiful coastal route towards Kilmore Quay, enjoying the scenery and the fantastic roads along the way.

Our lunchtime stop was at the Stella Maris Centre in Kilmore Quay, where we received a very warm welcome and were looked after extremely well. After lunch, members had some free time to explore Kilmore Quay, with plenty taking the opportunity to enjoy a stroll around the village, take in the harbour and browse the local shops and souvenirs. It was a lovely, relaxed way to spend the afternoon before making our way back to the hotel.

Saturday Evening

On Saturday evening, we came together again for our group evening meal at the hotel. After a busy day on the road, it was great to sit down together, enjoy some good food and share stories from the day’s adventures. The evening continued with plenty of socialising, laughter and good company.

Sunday – A Little More Exploring

Sunday morning saw some members beginning their journeys home, while others decided to make the most of the final day and enjoy another drive through the beautiful surrounding countryside. Our Sunday route took us into South Kilkenny, visiting the picturesque towns and villages of Inistioge, Thomastown, Graiguenamanagh and Kells. A particular highlight was our visit to Kells Priory, where members had the opportunity to explore this impressive historic site and take in its beautiful surroundings. After our visit to the Priory, we stopped at Kings Mill in Kells for some refreshments and a chance to relax and chat before bringing our May Weekend to a close.

A Weekend to Remember

Our May Weekend was a wonderful celebration of everything that makes these club weekends so enjoyable — great cars, fantastic roads, beautiful places, good food and, above all, great friendships and company.

A special thank you goes to Mick McCabe for organising Saturday’s excellent run and for his very generous strawberry surprise, as well as to everyone who helped make the weekend such a success.

We’d also like to thank the Brandon House Hotel and the Stella Maris Centre for their warm hospitality and for looking after our group so well.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who travelled and took part. Whether you joined us for the full weekend or for part of the activities, your enthusiasm and good humour helped make the May Weekend 2026 one to remember.

Mayo Weekend 19 to 22 September 2025

Our Autumn weekend escape brought the Classic Fiat Ireland group to the stunning surroundings of Geesala, Co. Mayo, where we were delighted to stay at the fabulous Erris Coast Hotel.

From the moment we arrived on Friday evening, we were greeted with a warm welcome by the hotel’s friendly and attentive staff. After settling in and freshening up, the group gathered in the bar to enjoy a delicious meal, served with great care and hospitality — the perfect start to a memorable weekend.

Following a hearty breakfast on Saturday morning, we set off on our adventure, with hotel staff kindly seeing us off while capturing our convoy of classic cars on video. Our journey took us through the breathtaking Wild Nephin National Park, where we paused to soak in the scenery and enjoy coffee at Ballycroy.

From there, we continued on to the beautiful Achill Island. After a light lunch at Gielty’s, we made our way to the spectacular Keem Bay. A few brave members even ventured into the chilly Atlantic for a paddle — a moment not to be forgotten!

On our return, we visited Corrymore Lake, another stunning location featured in The Banshees of Inisherin. We then followed the scenic Atlantic Drive, stopping at several picturesque spots along the way to capture photos and take in the incredible coastal views.

The day concluded back at the Erris Coast Hotel with a wonderful evening meal, followed by plenty of chat, laughter, and catching up that carried on into the early hours.

Sunday morning came too quickly, and we were sorry to leave such a welcoming hotel. We continued our journey through more of Wild Nephin before heading into Connemara, taking in the famous Sky Road into Clifden — a drive that offered truly spectacular views and the perfect end to a fantastic weekend.

Donegal Weekend 20 to23 September 2024

The Club Autumn weekend took place on the 20 to 23 September 2024. The base for the weekend was the fabulous Sandhouse Hotel and Marine Therapies overlooking the gorgeous Rossnowlagh Beach in Donegal. The group enjoyed bar food on the Friday night in the bar followed by lots of chats and swapping of car stories and latest happenings of members

Saturday saw the group leave the hotel at 10.45 to head North towards Donegal town and then headed West towards Killybegs where we had our first stop overlooking the lovely Fintra Beach where we had some photos taken and some members availed of coffee from the coffee wagon at the viewing point. We then travelled on westwards along the coast road towards Carrick. We stopped at the Muckros Head viewing point where we were lucky to meet a local gentleman who was exercising a bird of prey. After leaving Muckros Head we travelled on to Teelin where we had a fabulous lunch at Ti Linn Cafe at the Slieve Legue Centre. Following lunch we left Teelin and headed towards Malinbeg and onwards to Silver Strand. The majority of the group braved the 172 steps down to the breath-taking Silver Strand beach. Leaving Silver Strand beach we headed towards Glencolumbkille and back through fabulous scenery to the Hotel. The group then enjoyed dinner at the hotel dining room which has great views of Rossnowlagh Beach.

On Sunday the group after a leisurely breakfast left the hotel and travelled to Ballyshannon and then to Belleek to Rosscor past the Lough Erne resort and on to Enniskillen. We then travelled along the lake drive and stopped off at Castle Archdale Park. After leaving the park we headed towards Kesh and on past Rath Mountain towards Laghey and finished up in Bundoran for the evening meal.
